A member of the Republican Party, Curtis served from 2017 to 2025 as the U.S. representative for Utah's 3rd congressional district and from 2010 to 2017 as the 44th mayor of Provo. Curtis was first elected to Congress in a 2017 special election to succeed Jason Chaffetz in the U.S.
