Background

Kimberly A. Moore has served as chief judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit since May 22, 2021. Appointed by President George W. Bush, she joined the court in 2006 and was confirmed 92-0. Before her appointment, Moore was a professor at George Mason University's law school and an electrical engineer at the Naval Surface Warfare Center. She holds BS and MS degrees from MIT and a JD from Georgetown University Law Center.
