At that time: 66 members were African American, 56 Hispanic or Latino, 24 Asian American, South Asian American, or Pacific Islander, four were enrolled members of federally recognized tribes, 32 were born outside the United States, 98 had military experience, and 31% of House members and 47% of senators had practiced law.
